Designed for discreet and efficient monitoring of your battery bank, Victron Energy’s SmartShunt 2000A is an all-in-one battery monitor without a dedicated display. It uses your smartphone or tablet as a display interface via the VictronConnect app, connected via Bluetooth. This approach minimizes clutter and wiring while providing full access to essential battery parameters.
Complete Monitoring and Integrated Connectivity
The SmartShunt 2000A allows you to check state of charge, remaining autonomy, history, and many other detailed battery parameters. Its 2000A capacity makes it suitable for marine installations and embedded energy systems requiring high-current monitoring. The SmartShunt is also compatible with Victron Energy GX devices, such as the Color Control GX or the Cerbo GX, via a VE.Direct connection, enabling seamless integration into a broader energy management ecosystem. This connectivity ensures centralized data reporting and remote management via the VRM portal.
Differentiation and Technical Specifications
Compared to the BMV-712 battery monitor from the same brand, the SmartShunt stands out for its lack of a display and the integration of visual and audible alarm functions, as well as a programmable relay, which are absent on the SmartShunt. This simplification makes it ideal for installations where the monitor is hidden or where display is already handled by a GX device or smartphone. The SmartShunt features a VE.Direct port and a versatile auxiliary connection capable of monitoring a second battery, the midpoint voltage of a battery bank, or a temperature probe (optional probe). It operates within a supply voltage range of 6.5 to 70 VDC, with current consumption below 1 mA. Current measurement accuracy is ± 0.4%, and voltage accuracy is ± 0.3%. The 2000A model dimensions are 68 x 168 x 100 mm, with M10 shunt connection bolts. The SmartShunt has an IP21 protection rating. It logs voltage, current, state of charge, and auxiliary input data for 46 days, providing historical data for trend analysis. The two cables with 1A fuses for the '+' and starter battery/midpoint connections are included.
