Detailed description
Detailed description
The ePropulsion eLite 500 W electric outboard motor is designed for small boats, kayaks, dinghies and dinghies, providing silent and eco-friendly propulsion. This motor integrates a 378 Wh lithium-ion battery and stands out for its portability, weighing 6.7 kg without the bracket and 7.9 kg with the bracket. Its design facilitates transport and storage thanks to a foldable tiller, a quick-release system and an integrated carry handle.
Performance and range
The eLite 500 W delivers a continuous rated power of 500 W, equivalent to approximately 1.5 HP, and can reach a maximum power of 750 W in Sport mode for occasional acceleration. The integrated 25.2 V, 15 Ah battery provides a range of up to 45 minutes at full power (500 W) for a speed of 7.5 km/h, or about 1.5 hours at half power (250 W) for a speed of 6 km/h. The full charge time is 4 to 5 hours with the included AC charger.
Design and features
This motor is equipped with a standard height-adjustable shaft, with a range from 28 to 40 cm (282.5 mm to 401 mm), offering four adjustment positions. The natural water-cooling system ensures efficient heat dissipation. The tiller is extendable, steerable (±70°) and can be locked in several positions. It features a digital display for monitoring energy consumption and battery level, as well as a USB-C port for charging external devices. Trim angles are adjustable (8°, 17°, 26°), and a shallow-water mode (36°) is available, with a total tilt angle of 75° for storage.
Safety and maintenance
For safety, the eLite 500 W comes with a kill switch and a safety lanyard. Its operation is nearly silent thanks to its direct-drive design and submerged motor. Maintenance is simplified, requiring freshwater rinsing after use in salt water and electrical contact maintenance. The product is backed by a two-year warranty.
Runtime and water resistance: quoted runtimes and speeds come from ePropulsion tests on an 8-foot aluminium dinghy (117 kg total) with one operator in calm water. Results vary with vessel, load, wind and battery state and are not guaranteed. IP67 does not permit leaving the outboard submerged; after accidental submersion, stop using it and have an authorised dealer inspect it.
