Detailed description
Detailed description
Designed for NMEA 2000 networks, the AIRMAR ST850 sensor provides accurate measurement of water speed and temperature. This low-profile through-hull transducer integrates Smart™ Sensor technology, processing signals directly for simplified data transmission via a single cable. With its retractable design and P17 plastic hull fitting, it is suitable for fiberglass or metal hulls.
Performance and Integration
The ST850 transmits speed and temperature data at a rate of 1 Hz, covering a speed range of 2 to 45 knots. Temperature accuracy is ±0.5°C over a range of -10°C to 40°C. Its NMEA 2000 interface ensures plug-and-play connectivity with modern marine electronic equipment. The sensor requires 9 to 16V DC power and generates 17,000 pulses per nautical mile.
Design and Maintenance
This AIRMAR model features a retractable insert, facilitating maintenance of the impeller and minimizing water entry via an integrated valve when removed. Its low profile, protruding only 5 mm from the hull, reduces drag. It is compatible with a 51 mm mounting hole and can replace existing Airmar transducers such as the B617V, P617V, SS617V, P217, P314, or ST650, offering a practical upgrade solution. The included 6-meter NMEA 2000 certified cable is included.
