Detailed description
Detailed description
The Attwood PowerBase Light (PRL) 6100-LTPRL-1 is a motorized mount designed for navigation lights and marine antennas. This automated system simplifies deployment and stowage of equipment, integrating safety features to protect both the gear and the vessel.
Integrated features and protection
Designed with smart features, the Attwood PowerBase Light incorporates SafeGuard Breakaway technology. In case of impact, this function allows the attached unit to detach, preventing costly damage to the navigation light, antenna, or the boat’s rigid mount. The SmartDeploy Backdrive system detects obstructions during deployment and automatically reverses movement to avoid jams or damage, while notifying the user. Safe-Shield™ Collision Protection includes obstacle detection and a manual override function for power failures, enabling manual movement without damaging internal gears.
Marine design and integration
Constructed with UV-resistant polymers and marine-grade stainless steel components, this PowerBase ensures durable, corrosion-resistant construction. Its internal worm-drive mechanism is permanently lubricated and sealed, providing smooth operation without regular maintenance. The base offers a 180° range of motion, allowing the light or antenna to fold toward the stern or bow of the boat. It is compatible with Attwood LightArmor LED All-Round navigation lights (series 5590) and masthead lights (series 7800), as well as Attwood Light-Duty standard masts, typically up to 36 inches. Installation is surface-mounted with a standard 3-hole pattern. The unit operates on 12 V DC and requires marine-grade wiring of at least 18 AWG, along with a 2-position SPST switch with LED backlighting for installation. A visual LED feedback indicates the system status to the user.
