Detailed description
Detailed description
Designed for sailboats up to 36 000 kg (79 000 lbs), the B&G Hydraulic Ram T3 24V is a powerful and efficient linear actuator. It consists of a hydraulic cylinder and a clutch, and is designed to operate with a separate hydraulic pump, motor, and reservoir, offering increased installation flexibility.
Performance and integration
This hydraulic ram operates on a 24V DC power supply. It provides a 300 mm (11.8 inches) stroke and a full stroke-to-full stroke time of 13 seconds. The recommended tiller arm is 257 mm (10.11 inches). It delivers a thrust of 1100 kg (2425 lbs) and a rudder torque of 283 kg (623.9 lbs), ensuring precise course-keeping.
Technical specifications
The B&G Hydraulic Ram T3 24V is compatible with NAC-3, H5000, and AC42 autopilot computers. Its continuous coil consumption is 12 watts. The IP67 rating ensures resistance to temporary immersion and water spray. It is built with an aluminum body (BS1490) and a chrome-plated stainless steel piston rod. Integral relief valves protect the cylinder and its mounting, while a solenoid clutch is used to extend or retract the rod. This model features a separate hydraulic pump, offering increased mounting flexibility for the cylinder. It also supports the "Power Steer" mode, allowing the autopilot to be used as a backup steering system.
