Detailed description
The B&G Triton² pack is an instrumentation set for cruising and racing sailboats. Based on the NMEA 2000 network, it combines a multifunction display, a wired wind transducer, and a tri-function depth sounder.
Triton² multifunction display
The Triton² multifunction display features a 4.1-inch (10.4 cm) color screen with optical bonding to prevent internal condensation. Its transflective LCD remains visible in bright sunlight and at wide viewing angles. The display is 8 mm thick. It shows data via customizable pages, including B&G’s SailSteer function, which centralizes heading, wind, and laylines. It can display AIS targets and serve as a control unit for a B&G autopilot (requires a Triton² autopilot keypad as an add-on). It is waterproof to IPX7 standards and connects to the NMEA 2000 network for power and data.
Sensors
The wired wind transducer WS310 measures wind angle with a precision of +/- 0.5° and wind speed with an error margin under 4% across a range of 2 to 80 knots. The wired connection ensures data transmission and power supply. The through-hull tri-function depth sounder DST810 measures speed (up to 45 knots), depth (up to 100 m), and water temperature. It transmits data at 5 Hz and calibrates via Bluetooth using the Airmar Cast app.
Pack contents and integration
The pack includes the Triton² display, the WS310 wind transducer with its NMEA 2000 interface, a 20-meter mast cable, the DST810 through-hull depth sounder, and a complete NMEA 2000 starter kit (power cable, 2 T-connectors, 2 terminations). The Triton² pack reuses dedicated sailing software functions derived from B&G’s H5000 range. It is comparable to Raymarine i70s or Garmin GMI 20 instrumentation packs.
