Detailed description
Detailed description
The C-MAP ALASKA-4D electronic navigation chart is a solution designed for the Alaska region. It is available in microSD/SD card format and is compatible with chartplotters from Furuno, Humminbird, Raymarine, and Standard Horizon. This chart covers the southern coast of Alaska, from Dixon Entrance to Kodiak Island, including the Aleutian Islands up to Attu Island, Bristol Bay, and the North Slope to Liverpool Bay in Yukon, Canada. It also includes coverage of the Mackenzie River up to the 1160 km mark.
Detailed navigation features
The C-MAP ALASKA-4D provides comprehensive vector charts, allowing customization of data layers and animated tidal current display. It includes detailed routes and precise marina plans. Dynamic raster charts offer a traditional paper chart appearance with access to detailed information on buoys, lights, and other navigation elements, visible in 2D and 3D modes. The 3D view displays three-dimensional representations of land elevation and seafloor contours.
Enhanced situational awareness and safety
For improved situational awareness, the chart integrates high-resolution satellite imagery overlaid on vector data, along with thousands of marina photos and popular points of interest. High-resolution bathymetric data details underwater pinnacles, ledges, and canyons. The C-Marina Port database contains detailed port plans and marina charts. The Guardian Alarm is a safety feature that performs automatic forward-looking checks to detect potential hazards such as rocks, obstructions, and shallow depths, alerting the user. The Easy Routing function automatically calculates the shortest and safest route based on detailed chart data and vessel parameters, while flagging potential hazards.
Environmental information and customization
Tides and currents are displayed via interactive on-screen graphs and arrows, indicating time, water level, direction, and strength. Aerial photos of harbor entrances, channels, and marinas are included. Points of interest (POI) allow visualization of coastal routes and various locations such as restaurants, museums, and local services. One year of daily updates is typically included, sourced from collaborative data and C-MAP. Additional value-added data, such as high-resolution bathymetric charts and marine protected area information, can be added. Depth shading can be customized to highlight preferred depth ranges. The charts are available in over 140 languages and offer new perspective options, including depth, land elevation, photos, diagrams, and a bird’s-eye view.
