Detailed description
Detailed description
The C-MAP ATL. COAST, GULF OF MEXICO & CARIBBEAN-MAX marine chart (reference M-NA-M033-MS) is an electronic charting solution designed for coastal and offshore navigation across a large geographic area. This product is available on a media card format (SD, C-Card or MSD) and is compatible with chartplotters from brands including Lowrance, Simrad, B&G, Raymarine and Furuno.
Extensive geographic coverage
This NA-M033 chart covers a region including the eastern seaboard of North America, most of the U.S. East Coast (from Passamaquoddy Bay to Key West, Florida, including Chesapeake Bay), and the entire Gulf of Mexico (from Key West to Brownsville, Texas). It also extends into Canadian waters (from the Arctic to Newfoundland, the Gulf of St. Lawrence and Nova Scotia, with the St. Lawrence River covered up to Montreal). The area includes Caribbean islands (from the Bahamas to Cuba, as far as the Virgin Islands and Grenada), the Caribbean coasts of Colombia and Venezuela (from Golfo de Uraba to the Orinoco Delta), and the Pacific coasts of Latin America (from the Mexico/U.S. border around the Yucatan Peninsula, along the coasts of Belize, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, through the Panama Canal, to Salina Cruz, Mexico). Bermuda is also included in this coverage.
Advanced navigation features
C-MAP MAX charts integrate features to simplify route planning and execution. They include detailed vector charts derived from official hydrographic data. Dynamic tide and current projections assist in navigation or fishing planning. Precise marina plans are included, showing berth locations, regulated areas and other useful information. Depth shading allows visualization of different water depths. The high-resolution bathymetric layer (HRB) helps identify shallow areas, slope breaks or underwater relief. Custom depth shading options allow setting a safety depth or using specific colors.
Safety and planning aids
For safety, the Guardian alarm performs an automatic forward scan to detect obstacles, complemented by the Route-Check function which flags obstacles along segments between waypoints. The perspective view offers an "overhead" representation of the navigation area. The C-Marina Port database provides detailed marina information, including hours, marina office contacts, nearby accommodations and restaurants. Points of interest (POIs) and road mapping are also available to locate services and local attractions. Charts are updated twice a year to ensure information is current. The Easy Routing function allows automatic route plotting.
