Detailed description
Detailed description
Designed for fast and sensitive vessels, the CYCLOPS Smartlink² nano is a compact wireless load sensor. It provides precise measurement of loads on textile lines, giving sailors dynamic data to optimize performance and safety. Weighing 72g and measuring 64 x 55 x 17 mm, it is suitable for dinghies, foilers, windsurf boards, and kiteboards.
Precision and robustness for performance
The Smartlink² nano offers a maximum working load (MWL) of 600 kg and an accuracy of ±1% of the MWL, i.e., ±6 kg. Its housing is made of acetal, ensuring robustness and waterproofing beyond IP68 standards. Designed without removable parts, it is suited to extreme marine conditions. The sensor’s design minimizes drag, an asset for racing sailboats.
Wireless connectivity and extended integration
The Smartlink² nano connects wirelessly via Bluetooth to the Smartfittings app, available on iOS and Android, allowing real-time load monitoring and data recording for post-race analysis. It can also sync directly with Vakaros Atlas 2 and Sailmon MAX wireless displays. For full integration with onboard electronic systems, an optional Cyclops gateway enables data transmission via NMEA2000, NMEA0183, NKE, UDP, and MQTT, ensuring compatibility with brands such as B&G, Garmin, Raymarine, and others. Its new internal antenna improves Bluetooth range by approximately 60% compared to previous models.
Power management and installation
Powered by a lithium polymer battery, the Smartlink² nano offers up to 2000 hours of continuous use. Charging is done wirelessly via induction, with a full charge in 1 hour and 1 minute of charging providing a day of use. The sensor is designed to be installed inline on strops, halyards, or other soft textile lines. For optimal accuracy, Cyclops Marine recommends using Dyneema strops with a finished diameter of 4.0 mm.
