Detailed description
Detailed description
Designed for precise underwater detection, the ECHONAUTICS BT70M300-18 transducer is a CHIRP mid-band 300 W transducer. This low-profile bronze through-hull model provides depth and temperature sensing, ideal for navigators and anglers seeking reliable data at depths up to 183 m (600 ft).
CHIRP mid-band performance
The ECHONAUTICS BT70M300-18 transducer operates over a CHIRP frequency range of 95 to 155 kHz, enabling excellent target separation and clear detection of underwater structures. With 300 W of power, it delivers effective bottom coverage, particularly at intermediate depths. The beam width ranges from 23° to 17° at -3 dB, ensuring good vertical and horizontal coverage. At 10 m depth, bottom coverage reaches 4 m, increasing to 41 m at 100 m depth.
Robust design and specific installation
The BT70M300-18’s bronze through-hull design is built for durable installation and resistance to marine environments. Its low profile minimizes drag. The 18° tilt version is specifically suited to hulls with a deadrise angle between 16° and 24°, ensuring the sonar beam is correctly oriented for optimal performance. Installation requires a 62 mm (2.44 in) diameter hole in the hull and a 60 mm (2.36 in) thread. The 9 m (29.5 ft) cable is fitted with a standard 8-pin male connector, facilitating integration with compatible electronic systems.
