Designed by ePropulsion, the Spirit Battery Plus 1276 Wh 48 V lithium battery (SP-B000-02) is a dedicated power solution for the Spirit 1.0 Plus, Spirit 1.0 Evo and Spirit 1.0R Evo electric outboard motors. This battery integrates lithium-ion polymer chemistry, providing an energy capacity of 1276 Wh (28 Ah) for extended sailing range.
Technical Specifications and Performance
The Spirit Battery Plus operates at a nominal voltage of 48 V, with a cut-off voltage of 33.6 V and a full-charge voltage of 52.2 V. Its minimum and maximum voltages are 39 V and 60 V respectively. Weighing 8.7 kg and measuring 416 mm (length) x 275 mm (width) x 202 mm (height), it retains a compact and portable format. The minimum continuous discharge current is 28 A.
Safety, Robustness and Use
This battery features an integrated battery management system (BMS) that balances cells and provides protection against overcharging, excessive discharge, short circuits, extreme temperatures (overheating and under-temperature) and overcurrents. It also has a communication function. Designed for marine use, it is waterproof to IP67 standards and floats if accidentally immersed, facilitating recovery. Its robust metal electrical connector ensures a reliable connection.
Charging time is 8.5 hours with a standard charger and 3.5 hours with a fast charger. Chargers are sold separately. The battery can be charged via a standard charger, fast charger, 12 V DC charger or solar charge controller. Recommended operating temperatures are -10°C to 45°C for discharge and 0°C to 45°C for charging. For storage, the temperature range is -30°C to 70°C, with a recommendation of 15°C to 25°C at a charge level of approximately 60 % for long-term storage. If the charge level exceeds 60 % for more than ten days without activity, the battery actively discharges until it reaches about 60 %. It also actively discharges at 75 % after 20 days without charging or discharging. The Spirit Battery Plus comes with a 2-year warranty.
