Detailed description
Detailed description
The AC Antennas CELMAR1-1 marine VHF antenna is an omnidirectional 1.26-metre solution designed for reliable maritime communications. Its compact size makes it ideal for sailboats, powerboats, and workboats where space is limited, while maintaining excellent reception and transmission quality. Manufactured in Denmark, it sets a benchmark for robustness compared to entry-level competitor models.
Electrical performance and transmission
Operating in the marine VHF frequency range of 149.0 to 162.5 MHz, this antenna delivers a gain of 3 dB (0 dBd) and supports a maximum transmission power of 100 watts. Its nominal impedance is 50 ohms. The Voltage Standing Wave Ratio (VSWR) is strictly maintained below 1.5:1 across the entire band, ensuring optimal power transmission to the transceiver. Vertical polarization and the continuous short-circuit (DC-shorted) design provide effective protection against electrostatic discharges.
Mechanical design and marine resistance
Built around a fibreglass whip coated with a white polyurethane varnish, the CELMAR1-1 offers durable resistance to UV and salt environments. It holds an IP66 waterproof certification. Designed for extreme conditions, it remains operational in a temperature range from -55 °C to +60 °C and withstands winds up to 45 m/s (162 km/h). Weighing only 0.38 kg, it connects via a standard UHF female base, facilitating integration on most marine mounts.
