Detailed description
Detailed description
The FURUNO NAVPILOT711CPK1 is a CAN Bus-based autopilot system designed to provide precise and adaptable navigation. It integrates advanced technologies to optimize course-keeping across various vessel types.
Display and Control Unit
The FAP-7011C control unit features a 4.1" TFT LCD color display with a resolution of 320x240 pixels. Its 700 cd/m² brightness ensures visibility in full sunlight, while the 8-level adjustable backlight preserves night vision. The control unit is rated IP56 and operates on 12-24 VDC.
Processor Unit and Performance
The system’s core is the FAP-7002 processor unit. It manages multiple steering modes, including STBY, Auto, Dodge, Turn, Remote, Advanced auto, Navigation, Wind, and Fish Hunter™ (the latter require external data). The processor supports a continuous current of 25A and a peak current of 50A for 5 seconds for the rudder motor/solenoid, with a 3A clutch/bypass drive. Adjustable parameters include rudder gain (AUTO/1-20), counter-rudder (AUTO/0-20), trim gain (AUTO/1-20), and rate of turn (1-30 deg/s). The processor unit is rated IPX0.
Features and Connectivity
The NAVPILOT711CPK1 features self-learning software that continuously adapts to the vessel’s steering characteristics, adjusting parameters based on speed, trim, draft, tide, and wind. Fantum Feedback™ technology enables precise course control without requiring a physical rudder feedback unit, simplifying installation, particularly for 24- to 50-foot outboard boats. Dedicated modes are included for specific applications: SABIKI™ mode maintains course at low speed in reverse for fishing, while FishHunter™ mode enables automatic maneuvers (zigzag, square, circle, orbit, spiral, figure-eight) around a target when connected to a Furuno sonar or radar. The system provides 2 NMEA0183 ports and 1 CAN Bus port (NMEA2000) for plug-and-play integration with other navigation equipment, such as NavNet TZtouch MFDs and FI-70 instruments. It is compatible with propulsion systems like Yamaha Helm Master™, Yanmar 8LV, and Seastar Optimus360.
