Detailed description
Detailed description
Designed to extend the capabilities of your Garmin marine network, the Garmin GMS 10 network port expansion module allows you to connect multiple chartplotters, multifunction displays (MFD) and various sensors for seamless data sharing. It acts as a central hub for communication between your devices, facilitating the exchange of information such as weather, mapping, fishfinder and position data.
Connectivity and Data Sharing
The GMS 10 features 5 RJ-45 network ports, each with a watertight cap. It delivers data transfer speeds of 100 megabits per second, ensuring fast and reliable communication within the Garmin marine network. Its plug-and-play design automatically detects connected devices, simplifying system integration and expansion. Sensors connected to the GMS 10 power on and off automatically with the main chartplotter, eliminating the need for individual switches. Each port includes LED indicators (LNK/ACT, DUP/COL, 100) to show link status, network activity and connection speed.
Durability and Installation
This module is specifically engineered to withstand harsh marine environments. Its housing is fully gasketed and made from high-impact plastic alloy. It meets IEC 60529 IPX7 waterproofing standards, allowing immersion up to 1 meter for 30 minutes. Connections are water-resistant thanks to sealed caps for unused ports. The GMS 10 operates within a temperature range of -15°C to 70°C (+5°F to 158°F) and is powered by a 10 to 35 Vdc source. Its dimensions are 89.0 mm W x 57.2 mm H x 300.8 mm D (3.5” W x 2.3” H x 11.8” D) with a weight of 0.54 kg (1.2 lbs).
