Detailed description
Detailed description
Designed for optimal positioning signal reception, the Garmin GA™ 38 black GPS and GLONASS antenna is an external solution that improves navigation accuracy and reliability onboard. Specifically intended for Cortex® V1 and M1 systems, as well as various Garmin chartplotters, VHF radios, and compatible AIS units, it represents an upgrade for devices with obstructed internal antennas or those requiring superior GNSS performance.
Performance and Compatibility
The GA 38 supports dual-constellation GPS and GLONASS systems, ensuring faster position acquisition and better accuracy even in challenging conditions. With compact dimensions of 91.6 mm in diameter and 49.5 mm in height, and a weight of 128 g for the black model, it integrates discreetly. Its high-impact plastic alloy housing, fully waterproof to IEC 60529 IPX7 standards, guarantees resistance to demanding marine environments, with an operating temperature range of -30°C to 70°C. It comes with a 10-meter BNC-SMA cable, allowing flexible installation.
Versatile Installation Options
The Garmin GA 38 antenna offers multiple mounting options to suit various boat configurations. It can be installed on a flat surface using the included surface-mount bracket, or attached to a standard 1-inch outer diameter mast with a 14 threads-per-inch thread pitch using the provided mast-mount bracket. These options allow positioning the antenna for clear sky visibility, avoiding obstructions from superstructure, radome, or mast, and minimizing electromagnetic interference from the engine, radar, or VHF radios. Unlike the white model, the under-deck mounting bracket is not included with the black version.
