Detailed description
Detailed description
Designed for demanding marine navigation, the Garmin GPSMAP® 9010 (SKU reference 010-03175-00) positions itself as a high-end chartplotter within the GPSMAP 9000 series. This multifunction device integrates a world mapping database and delivers processing performance up to seven times faster than previous generations, ensuring smooth chart plotting and route calculation. It features a 10-inch HD IPS touchscreen with a resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels, readable in full sunlight and designed with an edge-to-edge bezel for seamless integration into any marine dashboard. With physical dimensions of 26 cm x 20 cm x 9.1 cm and a weight of 2.52 kg, the GPSMAP 9010 is rated IPX7, ensuring resistance to harsh marine environments. It provides an advanced navigation solution for recreational boaters and professionals requiring reliability and full system integration.
Advanced performance and connectivity
The Garmin GPSMAP 9010 is equipped with a 10 Hz dual-frequency GPS receiver, compatible with GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, and BeiDou systems, for precise and reliable positioning. Its storage capacity allows for up to 5,000 waypoints, 50,000 track points, 50 tracks, and 100 routes. In terms of connectivity, this device integrates Garmin BlueNet™, offering gigabit speeds for connecting multiple chartplotters, cameras, radars, and fishfinders. It also includes an NMEA 2000® port, an NMEA 0183 input/output, video input ports (1 composite BNC, 1 HDMI), an HDMI output port, a J1939 port, and a USB-C port. Wireless connectivity includes Bluetooth®, ANT®, and Wi-Fi (2.4 GHz and 5 GHz), facilitating integration with the Garmin ecosystem and control via quatix® smartwatches or the ActiveCaptain® app.
Specific navigation and integration features
In addition to its preloaded world mapping, the Garmin GPSMAP 9010 is compatible with optional Garmin Navionics+™ and Garmin Navionics Vision+™ charts, featuring Auto Guidance+™ technology. For sailing, it offers Garmin SailAssist™ functions and speed polars, displaying laylines, start line advice, and an optimized compass rose. The model is also compatible with SiriusXM® Radio’s Fish Mapping™ function (requires an accessory and subscription). Integration of onboard digital systems is streamlined, enabling control and monitoring of the vessel, including extended camera support and autopilot integration. The SmartMode feature allows combining different screen layouts for optimal customization. The 9010 differs from the 9010xsv version by the absence of an integrated fishfinder, positioning it as a pure chartplotter, ideal for installations where the fishfinder module is external or already present, offering flexibility for complex marine systems. Compared to competitors such as the B&G Zeus³S or certain Raymarine Axiom Pro models, the GPSMAP 9010 emphasizes its fast processing and BlueNet network for seamless sensor and screen interconnection.
