Detailed description
Detailed description
Designed for marine ambient lighting, the Garmin LUX SL180 CRGBW 4000mm strip light provides a versatile lighting solution for vessels. This lighting system can produce a full CRGBW color spectrum (cool white, red, green, blue, warm white) as well as tunable white from 2700 K to 6500 K, enabling precise customization of onboard ambiance.
Design and Technical Specifications
The LUX SL180 is fully encapsulated and factory-sealed to IP68 standards, making it suitable for damp areas though not designed for permanent submersion. Its UV-resistant material construction and salt spray test certification ensure durability in marine environments. With a depth of approximately 5 mm and a width of 14.5 mm, its low profile allows discreet integration under gunwales, behind panels, or beneath furniture.
Installation and System Integration
Each meter of strip light consumes 5 watts, with a maximum current draw of 0.6 A/m at 12 V and 0.36 A/m at 24 V via the dedicated driver module. The LUX SL180 requires connection to the Lumishore LUX Strip Light Driver module (sold separately) to operate, with an input voltage range of 23-25V. Mechanical installation uses 3M adhesive and screw-in mounting clips (supplied), recommended every 25 to 30 cm for optimal hold, especially outdoors or in damp-prone areas. The strip has a minimum bending radius of 50mm on the vertical axis only; twisting or horizontal bending is prohibited. Unlike some cuttable LED solutions, the LUX SL180 is supplied in ready-to-use lengths and must not be cut to maintain its IP68 integrity.
Control and Flexibility
Lighting control can be achieved via a momentary switch (with the driver module), or more advanced control via a compatible multifunction display (MFD), dedicated Lumishore screen, or smart device, in conjunction with the EOS-LUX Command Center control hub. This flexibility positions the LUX SL180 as part of an integrated marine lighting ecosystem, offering standard dimming capabilities to adjust light intensity. The product carries a 3-year warranty.
