Detailed description
Detailed description
The Garmin Signal™ RM 100 is a remote station designed to extend the control of Garmin Signal™ VHF 400 and VHF 220 marine VHF radios. It allows full management of VHF functions, Digital Selective Calling (DSC), and Automatic Identification System (AIS) from a secondary helm station or flybridge. This unit features a 3.5-inch color touchscreen with edge-to-edge glass design, ensuring a modern aesthetic and seamless integration with other Garmin equipment.
Connectivity and System Integration
Integration of the Signal™ RM 100 into the Garmin ecosystem is simplified thanks to its single connection via the Garmin BlueNet™ network. This technology ensures smooth communication with the main VHF 400/220 units and facilitates data exchange for AIS, DSC, and GPS with compatible chartplotters and other devices in the Garmin Marine Network via NMEA 2000. Unlike traditional VHF systems that limit remote control to basic functions via a simple microphone, the RM 100 provides a full graphical user interface, comparable to the main unit, for total and intuitive control.
Advanced Audio and Practical Features
The hand microphone included with the Garmin Signal™ RM 100 features adaptive noise cancellation, ensuring superior audio clarity during transmissions and receptions, even in noisy marine environments. It also includes an integrated 95 dBA speaker at 0.5 meters. The VHF playback function automatically records up to three minutes of audio transmission on any active channel, allowing playback of important messages. Additionally, an intercom function enables communication between the remote station and the main units connected to the network. The device is designed to withstand demanding marine environments, with IPX6 and IPX7 waterproof ratings, and operates within a temperature range of -20°C to 55°C.
