The Humminbird MEGA 360 Imaging pack (AS-M360PACK) provides real-time 360-degree sonar scanning technology, designed for precise detection of underwater structures and fish around your vessel. This system uses two beam frequencies, 455 kHz and MEGA, allowing adjustment of detection depth and detail level to match specific water conditions.
Scanning and display features
The MEGA 360 Imaging transducer operates effectively at speeds from 0 to 7 mph. To preserve its lifespan, it is recommended to power it off when not in use or during high-speed travel. The device does not provide temperature data, requiring an external source if this information is needed. The 360 view allows display of various overlays such as the boat icon, range circles and their labels, beam frequency, zoom level, compass, heading line, waypoints, and cursor data. You can adjust scan size, 360 range, and scan speed to optimize your underwater environment visualization.
Integration and navigation
The system includes a GPS function for position data reception, displaying satellite signal strength and correction type (2D Fix, 3D Fix, or Enhanced via WAAS, EGNOS, MSAS). The HDOP (Horizontal Dilution Of Precision) parameter is used to calculate the estimated position error. Traditional 2D Sonar and Down Imaging views can be used alongside the 360 view to maximize data collection. Contrast settings (with MEGA 360 dynamic contrast), sharpness, and water column sensitivity adjustments are available to refine the sonar image. To mark waypoints, the cursor position can be used.
