Marine amplifier MV700/5i

This is a 5-channel Class D marine audio system amplifier designed to deliver high-quality sound amplification with outstanding energy efficiency. It features JL Audio’s NexD2™ technology and a digital signal processor (DSP) for advanced tuning.

The JL Audio MV700/5i amplifier is a 5-channel system amplifier with a total power output of 700 watts.

The MV700/5i uses JL Audio’s NexD2™ technology, which is the second generation of their high-speed switching Class D amplification, delivering reference-grade audio performance with exceptional efficiency.

The integrated DSP in the MV700/5i amplifier is configured via an external device (PC, tablet or smartphone) on which the appropriate JL Audio TüN™ application is installed. A USB A/B connection is provided for configuration with a computer.

The MV700/5i amplifier is designed to operate exclusively with 12V DC negative-ground electrical systems.

Use tinned copper wire of at least 4 AWG gauge for marine installations. Copper-clad aluminum (CCA) wires are not recommended.

A suitable fuse or circuit breaker (sold separately) must be installed on the main power wire within 18 cm (7 inches) of the battery terminal connection, or in accordance with marine industry standards, for the vessel's safety. If this is the only device connected to this main wire, a 60 A rating is recommended.

For optimal cooling, the amplifier’s outer casing must be exposed to as large a volume of air as possible. It is recommended to leave at least 2.5 cm (1 inch) of clearance above the amplifier’s outer casing. Installation in a small, poorly ventilated compartment may lead to excessive heat buildup.

Yes, when mounted vertically with all connections pointing downward, the amplifier achieves an IPX2 water resistance rating. It must never be submerged or exposed to high-pressure water jets.

Yes, the amplifier is equipped with a JLid-COMM port to connect optional accessories such as the MVi-HUB, the M-DRC-50, the VXi-BTC or the MVi-DRCADAPT.

The amplifier has two reset functions, accessible via a small button to be used with a pin:

To perform a factory reset (clear memory and restart the amplifier), press and hold the button for 7 seconds. All user settings will be erased.

To restart the amplifier (retain previous user settings), press and release the button.

JL Audio strongly recommends having the amplifier installed by an authorized dealer. Authorized dealers have the training, expertise, and equipment required to ensure optimal product performance.

Do not install the MV700/5i amplifier in areas directly exposed to the elements, in the engine compartment, or in any zone of extreme heat (near a heater or hot air). It must also not be submerged or subjected to high-pressure water jets.

The supplied speaker output leads are fitted with water-resistant connectors to ensure maximum connection integrity in marine environments. Simply connect the speaker output wires to the corresponding wires.

Before drilling, always check that you are not drilling into an exterior panel/hull, a fuel tank, a fuel line, a wiring harness, or any other vital system on the vessel.

The power, ground, and remote trigger wires are inserted into the power connector and secured by tightening the adjustment screws using the supplied hex keys. The connector is then firmly plugged into the amplifier socket.

The JL Audio TüN™ application is designed to be used on a PC, tablet, or smartphone. The appropriate application must be installed on the chosen device to configure the amplifier's DSP.

Using the MV700/5i amplifier in vessels with positive-ground electrical systems or with voltages other than 12V DC may damage the product and void its warranty.
