Designed for the marine environment, the JL Audio M3-770ETXv3-Gw-S-Gw tower speakers are 2-way coaxial 7.7-inch speakers engineered for clear and powerful audio output. Each speaker delivers a continuous power output of 70 watts RMS (140 watts RMS per pair), with a peak musical power of 225 watts. They feature a mineral-injected polypropylene cone (MIPP) woofer with synthetic rubber surround, paired with a 19 mm (3/4-inch) silk dome tweeter.
Design and acoustic performance
These speakers have a nominal impedance of 4 ohms and a frequency response of 55 Hz to 25,000 Hz (±3 dB), with a sensitivity of 90.5 dB at 1W/1m. The 2-way crossovers are mounted on the woofer baskets for optimal integration. The recommended RMS amplifier power is 25 to 150 watts per channel, ensuring compatibility with various marine audio setups. The M3-770ETXv3-Gw-S-Gw model is specifically designed without RGB LED lighting, distinguishing it from the '-i' variant equipped with LEDs.
Marine durability and installation
The enclosure is made of injection-molded plastic (ABS) with a glossy white finish and glossy white sport grilles. The marine-grade construction includes UV- and corrosion-resistant polymer baskets and grilles, as well as gold-plated marine-grade brass terminals. JL Audio conducts rigorous testing, including UV chamber and salt spray tests, to ensure durability in harsh marine environments. The enclosure dimensions are 196 mm (7.70 inches) in diameter, 318 mm (12.52 inches) in depth, and 217 mm (8.56 inches) in height, including the mounting bracket. These speakers require JL Audio mounting systems (sold separately) for installation on wakeboard towers or rails, offering flexibility for various pipe diameters. Surface/mounting bracket attachments with tilt adjustment are also available. The included wiring is 16 AWG marine-grade parallel-conductor speaker cable.
