Detailed description
Detailed description
The Mastervolt AC Master 12/2500 inverter is designed to provide reliable AC power from a 12 V battery source, converting direct current into a pure sine wave output of 230 V. This model is suitable for recreational and semi-professional applications, ensuring stable power for sensitive equipment.
Performance and Electrical Specifications
This inverter delivers an output voltage of 230/240 V AC (± 3%) with selectable frequency of 50/60 Hz (± 0.1%), providing a pure sine wave output. It supplies a continuous power output of 2500 W at 40 °C (cos phi 1) and supports peak loads up to 4000 W for 1 second or 3000 W for 1 minute. Conversion efficiency reaches 88%.
On the input side, the nominal battery voltage is 12 V, with an operating range from 10.0 V to 16.0 V. Standby power consumption is less than 3.6 A in ON mode and drops to less than 1.1 A in energy-saving mode. A minimum 300 A slow-blow DC fuse is recommended, and the minimum required cable cross-section is 95 mm². The AC input is protected by a 20 A circuit breaker.
Features and System Integration
The AC Master 12/2500 supports advanced configurations, including parallel operation with up to 15 units to increase output power, and three-phase operation with up to 3 units (one unit per phase). An integrated transfer system ensures automatic switching between AC power sources. The device features CAN1, CAN2, and LCM ports, as well as DIP switches for custom settings, including enabling energy-saving mode and master/slave mode. MasterBus compatibility is available via an optional AC Master interface.
Design and Protections
The inverter is equipped with a fan-cooled system, with fan speed controlled by temperature and load, ensuring quiet operation at low power levels. Its protection rating is IP21, making it suitable for horizontal wall mounting in a protected environment. Typical harmonic distortion is less than 5%. It includes multiple protection mechanisms: overtemperature, overload, short circuit, high/low battery voltage, and AC overcurrent (via circuit breaker). Dimensions are 283 x 436 x 128 mm (HxWxD) with a weight of 8 kg. The operating ambient temperature range is from -20 °C to 60 °C, with power derating above 40 °C. Connection is "hard wired" (directly wired).
