Detailed description
Detailed description
The Navico IDST800L, identified as the Airmar DST800L, is a through-hull multifunction Smart™ Triducer® sensor designed for marine environments. It integrates depth, speed, and temperature sensing in a single through-hull housing, simplifying installation and reducing hull penetrations. This low-profile transducer features a long shaft and a retractable mechanism, enabling maintenance without requiring the vessel to be taken out of the water.
Advanced Technical Capabilities
Operating at a frequency of 235 kHz, the Navico IDST800L is designed to avoid mutual interference with other fishfinders onboard. Its nominal power output is 100 W via NMEA 2000®. It offers a depth range from 0.5 m to 185 m, with a maximum depth of 100 m via NMEA 2000®. Speed measurement is accurate up to 45 knots, and temperature is recorded with a precision of ±0.2°C. The transducer has a wide fan-shaped beam of 10°x44° (port-starboard), ensuring effective bottom detection even on hulls with high deadrise angles or heeling sailboats.
Robust Design and System Integration
Constructed with a bronze housing, the IDST800L provides durable construction suited for harsh marine conditions. It is compatible with fiberglass or wooden hulls and can be installed on deadrise angles up to 12° without fairing, and up to 28° with optional fairing. The sensor connects via a certified NMEA 2000® 6-meter cable and also supports NMEA 0183, ensuring compatibility with existing marine systems and standard network protocols. The required hole diameter is 51 mm (2 inches), with a shaft length of 102 mm. Its weight is 3.9 kg and dimensions are 20.32 × 10.16 × 25.4 cm.
