Detailed description
Detailed description
Designed for detailed underwater viewing, the Navico HDI Skimmer M/H 455/800 X-Sonic 9-pin combines Broadband Sounder and DownScan Imaging™ (HDI) technologies. This transom-mounted or trolling motor depth sounder provides full seabed coverage and improved target separation.
Advanced Sonar Technologies
The depth sounder integrates Hybrid Dual Imaging (HDI) technology, delivering clear and precise images. For DownScan Imaging™, it operates at 455/800 kHz frequencies, with a maximum range of 90 meters (300 feet) at 455 kHz. The Broadband Sounder uses Medium/High CHIRP frequencies (83/200 kHz), reaching a maximum depth of 304 meters (1000 feet) at 200 kHz. Beam angles are 6.4° at 455 kHz and 12° at 800 kHz for DownScan, and 38° at 83 kHz and 17° at 200 kHz for Broadband.
Design and Installation
The HDI Skimmer transducer features an X-Sonic 9-pin connector, ensuring direct compatibility with Lowrance and Simrad units equipped with an X-Sonic transducer port. It includes an integrated water temperature sensor and a 6-meter (20-foot) cable. Weighing 0.11 kg, it can be mounted on the transom or a trolling motor. The depth sounder is designed to operate at temperatures from 0°C to +50°C and supports a maximum speed of 60 knots (70 mph). For installation, it is recommended to apply high-quality marine sealant/adhesive on pilot holes and select a location ensuring undisturbed water flow, avoiding hull chines or flaps that may cause turbulence. Adapters for older 7-pin displays are available separately.
