The Navico Naviop LOOP S Digital Switching System kit is a compact and easy-to-install digital switching solution designed for small boats. It provides centralized control and monitoring of onboard systems via an integrated sidebar on a compatible multifunction display (Lowrance, Simrad, B&G). This system can also serve as a backup solution for larger vessels.
Technical Specifications and Features
The system is powered by a 9–32 V DC source for the OP-Box and 8–16 V DC for the overall system (12 V DC nominal). Current consumption is up to 0.15 A at 24 V DC (OP-Box) and 1.5 mA in standby for the Egon+ board. The total current limit is 200 A, with two M8 input terminals each supporting up to 100 A. The Egon+ distribution board, the core component of the LOOP S, features 8 fused relay channels and 8 fused channels without relay control. At 12 V DC, the fused channels support up to 30 A, while the relay and fused channels (resistive load) handle up to 20 A. The maximum load for the board is 200 A. Two LOOP S systems can be combined to control up to 16 relay channels.
Connectivity and Integration
The Naviop LOOP S is equipped with two Ethernet ports (10/100 Mbps), one USB 2.0 port (max. 100 mA), and two serial ports (RS-232, RS-485, RS-422, software-configurable with optical isolation). It also includes two CAN bus ports with 1 kV optical isolation, using a Naviop CAN bus and NMEA 2000 via a Naviop ARC protocol converter. System configuration is simplified using the Naviop Loop SetApp web application, which generates the required configuration files. The system integrates with Simrad Pro marine ecosystems and standard marine network protocols. Over 70 icons are available for customizing control and monitoring functions.
Robustness and Compliance
Designed for the marine environment, the system features IPX7 protection for the OP-Box and IP66 for the Egon+ board, ensuring resistance to temporary immersion and high-pressure water jets. Operating temperatures range from -15°C to +55°C for the OP-Box and from -40°C to +85°C for the Egon+ board. Storage temperatures range from -20°C to +70°C for the OP-Box and from -40°C to +125°C for the Egon+ board. It withstands mechanical shocks (SAE J2030), vibrations (SAE J1455), salt spray (96 hours per ASTM B117-94), and various chemicals. Protections include reverse polarity (-24 V DC for 5 minutes) and short circuits. The product complies with the EMC directive 2014/30/EU.
