Detailed description
Detailed description
The Navico RF25N rudder angle sensor is an essential component for optimizing the performance of Simrad and B&G autopilots. Designed to provide absolutely reliable rudder position data, it allows the autopilot computer to adjust its actions with maximum responsiveness. Unlike competing solutions such as the Garmin GRF 10, this model integrates natively into the Navico ecosystem via a direct NMEA 2000 connection, reducing processing latency and actuator power consumption.
Surgical Precision and Repeatability
The RF25N stands out with formidable accuracy of ±0.25° (within a range of ±5°) and exceptional repeatability of ±0.1°. Capable of measuring a rudder angle up to ±120 degrees, it transmits this data via the NMEA 2000 signal (PGN 127245). This high fidelity of information is crucial for advanced steering algorithms, ensuring very smooth course holding and minimizing unnecessary rudder movements.
NMEA 2000 Installation and Marine Robustness
Installation is greatly simplified thanks to the included 5.5-meter cable, which provides both power (8-16V) and data transmission over the network. With an ultra-low consumption of 0.4W (LEN 1), this sensor preserves the vessel's energy balance. Made from Arnite T06 200 PBT thermoplastic and benefiting from IP56 waterproofing, the RF25N is built to withstand damp locker environments, tolerating temperatures ranging from -25 to +55 °C. It can be mounted horizontally or vertically depending on your rudder stock configuration.
