Detailed description
Detailed description
The Navico TripleShot Skimmer fishfinder (part number 000-14029-001) is a multi-purpose transducer designed for fishing and navigation systems, integrating three distinct sonar technologies. This fishfinder combines high-frequency CHIRP sonar, DownScan™ imaging, and SideScan™ imaging, providing a detailed view of the water column and underwater structures. It serves as a complete solution for anglers seeking precise fish identification and environmental mapping, similar to systems like Lowrance TotalScan fishfinders or Garmin ClearVü/SideVü transducers, but optimized for Navico’s HOOK2 range.
Advanced Sonar Capabilities
The traditional High CHIRP mode operates at a frequency of 200 kHz, with a beam width of 44° and a maximum depth detection capability of 152 meters (500 feet). For structural imaging, DownScan Imaging™ and SideScan Imaging™ operate at frequencies of 455 kHz and 800 kHz. DownScan achieves a depth of 91 meters (300 feet) at 455 kHz and 46 meters (150 feet) at 800 kHz. SideScan, in turn, offers a lateral coverage of 183 meters (600 feet) end-to-end at 455 kHz and 91 meters (300 feet) at 800 kHz, with beam widths of 55/0.8° at 455 kHz and 35/0.5° at 800 kHz. These specifications enable extended coverage and photographic-like visualization of the seabed.
Design and Installation
Weighing 0.48 kg, the TripleShot Skimmer fishfinder is designed for transom mounting, ensuring straightforward installation. It features a 6-meter (20-foot) cable and an 8-pin connector, ensuring compatibility with HOOK2 TripleShot units of 5, 7, 9, and 12 inches. Operating conditions are specified between -15°C and +55°C, with a storage range of -30°C to +70°C, ensuring resilience in diverse marine environments. For installation, it is recommended to avoid spray rails and flaps, and to select a location with undisturbed water flow. Specific hole diameters are provided for soft materials (Ø 3.7-4.0 mm) and rigid materials (Ø 4.2-4.7 mm), with the application of marine-grade sealant for pilot holes.
