Detailed description
Detailed description
Specifically designed for integrating the Carbowind HR anemometer-vane sensor, the NKE trapezoidal Carbowind tube (reference 90-60-537) ensures precise and stable installation at the masthead or on the side. Made of carbon, this tube provides the lightness and rigidity required for a component exposed to marine stresses, ensuring the durability and accuracy of wind measurements.
Design and Integration
The trapezoidal shape of this tube is a key feature, allowing the Carbowind HR sensor pole to be locked against rotation once installed. This design prevents any mechanical play that could distort apparent wind data, a critical factor for NKE navigation systems. The internal diameter is adjusted for perfect compatibility with the Carbowind HR pole, ensuring a flawless fit.
Position in the NKE Range
Unlike generic mounting solutions, this NKE carbon tube is a dedicated part that fits within the NKE Topline ecosystem. It complements sensors such as the Carbowind HR (reference 90-60-370), which provides data such as apparent wind angle from 0° to ±180° and wind speed with sensitivity below 2 knots, as well as air temperature from -10°C to +50°C. Using this tube ensures that the performance of these sensors—featuring 10 to 16VDC power, 25mA consumption, and IP67 waterproofing—is maintained at optimal levels due to a stable, vibration-free mounting base.
