Detailed description
Detailed description
The Océan Signal rescueME EDF1 electronic distress light redefines safety at sea by offering a safe and durable alternative to traditional pyrotechnic flares. Recognized as the world's most compact distress light, it provides constant 360° horizontal and 30° vertical visibility. Unlike classic flares that last only a few minutes, the EDF1 ensures continuous illumination for up to 6 hours thanks to its advanced LED technology, with a luminous range reaching 7 nautical miles.
Robust design and luminous performance
Specifically designed for the marine environment, this 155-gram locating light is waterproof down to 10 meters. It features 4 operating modes, including an economy mode that extends battery life beyond 6 hours. Capable of operating in extreme conditions, its operating temperature range is from -20°C to +55°C. Its ultra-compact format, approximately 40% smaller than competing devices, allows it to be easily slipped into a liferaft or the pocket of a lifejacket, perfectly complementing other rescueME equipment such as the PLB1 beacon or the MOB1.
Power supply and reliability
Power is provided by a replaceable user-serviceable LB10F lithium battery (9V LiMnO2). This design ensures the device is always ready for use without requiring return to the factory. The battery, containing 1.65 g of lithium, complies with UN 38.3 transport standards. The device also includes a battery test function to check its condition before departure. Certified CE, FCC Part 15, and EN60945, this electronic light comes with a 5-year manufacturer's warranty, attesting to its reliability for demanding sailors.
