Detailed description
Detailed description
The LB3S single-use lithium battery module from Ocean Signal is designed to power the safeSEA S100 and S200 SART transponders. Essential for maintaining compliance and functionality of your marine safety equipment, this single-use battery module ensures reliable power in emergency situations.
Design and technical specifications
This module uses LiFeS2 (lithium iron disulfide) chemistry and weighs 89g. It contains a total of 1.96g of lithium, distributed across two isolated batteries, each composed of two L91 cells connected in series. The design includes a clearly marked expiration date on the device, ensuring full operational capacity in an emergency. The LB3S module is UN 38.3 certified, attesting to its compliance with United Nations recommendations for the transport of dangerous goods, including rigorous safety testing.
Installation and maintenance
Replacing the LB3S battery is a user-performable operation. Installation involves inserting the new battery into the lower section of the SART and securing it with a single hex-head screw (3 mm Allen key provided), with a tightening torque not exceeding 0.5 Nm to ensure proper sealing. It is critical to ensure the rubber gasket is correctly positioned. After each use of the SART or before the expiration date, the module must be replaced to guarantee full operational capacity. It is recommended to use original Ocean Signal batteries to ensure optimal SART transponder performance.
