Expert opinion

« Technical analysis of RAM Mounts support for Lowrance 4–5" displays »

The RAM Mounts RA-B-101-LO12 mount is a relevant mounting solution for users of Lowrance fishfinders and chartplotters in the HOOK², REVEAL, and EAGLE series with 4- and 5-inch screens. Its advantage lies in providing a fixed, horizontal screen position, which is particularly useful on consoles with limited space or when the operator wants a constant display without frequent adjustments.

For installation, this type of mount is ideal for small boats, fishing kayaks, or tenders where simplicity and robustness are paramount. The RAM Mounts "B ball" does not offer the same flexibility in orientation as multi-joint systems, but it provides increased stability once tightened, reducing screen vibrations and unwanted movement even in rough conditions. It is a wise choice for a "set-and-forget" installation where direct visibility and mounting solidity take priority over constant angle adjustability.

This mount stands out for its targeted compatibility with Lowrance models featuring 4- and 5-inch screens, avoiding oversized or unsuitable mounts. It is less versatile than multi-arm systems, but excels in its dedicated mounting function, offering a streamlined and reliable solution for these specific screen sizes. Before installation, ensure the chosen location is suitable for the fixed horizontal orientation of the mount.

Which Lowrance display models are compatible with this RAM Mounts mount?

How do I install my Lowrance fishfinder on this mount?

Installing your Lowrance fishfinder on this mount is done by attaching the supplied adapter plate to the rear of your Lowrance HOOK², REVEAL or EAGLE (4- or 5-inch) unit. The plate then connects to the size B ball of the clamp arm, allowing horizontal positioning of the display. The mount itself must be secured to a flat and stable surface on your vessel.
