The Raymarine EV-400 autopilot kit is a navigation solution designed to provide precise course control. It integrates an EV-1 AHRS (Attitude Heading Reference Sensor) and an ACU-400 actuator control unit (ACU). The system is powered by the SeaTalk NG (NMEA2000) network.

The SeaTalk NG network requires a single 12 V DC power supply. This power supply can be provided by a direct connection to a 12 V DC battery using a 5 amp inline fuse.

The SeaTalk NG network power supply must be connected directly to a 12 V DC battery using an inline 5 amp fuse. It is important to connect the power supply to a white SeaTalk NG connection on the backbone and NOT to a blue SeaTalk NG backbone connector.

Yes, it is recommended to install the EV-1 sensor:

At least 1 metre (3.28 feet) away from any equipment transmitting or cables carrying radio signals (e.g., VHF radios, cables and antennas). For SSB radios, this distance must be increased to 2 metres (6.6 feet). More than 2 metres (6.56 feet) from the path of a radar beam. Away from other equipment and cables, as well as high-current AC and DC power lines.

It is recommended to perform the following routine checks regularly to ensure the correct and reliable operation of your equipment:

Inspect all cables for signs of damage or wear. Ensure the product(s) has a reliable power supply and that the update process is not interrupted.

If your Raymarine equipment must be connected to other devices using a cable not supplied by Raymarine, a suppression ferrite MUST always be attached to the cable near the Raymarine unit.

Damage caused by an incomplete software update is not covered by the Raymarine warranty.
