Detailed description
Detailed description
The Raymarine EV-400 autopilot kit is a navigation solution designed to provide precise heading control. It integrates the EV-1 AHRS (Attitude Heading Reference Sensor) and the ACU-400 actuator control unit. The EV-1 replaces the traditional fluxgate compass with an AHRS sensor for heading and attitude detection. This system is powered by the SeaTalk NG network (NMEA2000).
EV-1 AHRS Sensor: Precision and Integration
The EV-1 AHRS sensor is the core of the system. Weighing 0.29 kg, it operates on a nominal voltage of 12 V (powered by the SeaTalk NG system), with an operating range of 10.8 V to 15.6 V DC. Its power consumption is 30 mA. The sensor is designed to withstand marine environments and has an operating temperature range of -25 °C to +55 °C.
ACU-400 Control Unit: Power and Connectivity
The ACU-400 manages power and control circuits for the vessel’s steering system, with a 15A output current for drives. The entire kit integrates with the NMEA2000 network (via SeaTalk NG), facilitating communication with other onboard electronic equipment. The SeaTalk NG network requires a 12 V DC power supply protected by a 5-amp inline fuse. The system is compatible with LightHouse 2, 3, and 4 operating manuals and p70/p70R/p70s/p70Rs controllers.
