The Raymarine iTC-5 instrument sensor converter is designed to integrate a range of analog sensors directly into a SeaTalkng network. This device converts data from traditional sensors to the NMEA 2000 digital protocol via SeaTalkng, ensuring compatibility with modern multifunction displays and instruments.
Integration of Analog Sensors
The iTC-5 supports various types of analog sensors, including depth, speed, and water temperature sensors (DST), Raymarine wind sensors or Rotavane, rudder angle indicators, and Fluxgate compasses. It manages data conversion for parameters such as apparent wind angle and speed (AWA, AWS), depth, speed through water (STW), log distance, trip distance, sea temperature, rudder angle, and vessel heading.
Connectivity and Power
For system integration, the Raymarine iTC-5 connects to a SeaTalkng network and requires a 12 V DC power supply. It is essential to protect the power supply with an appropriate fuse or circuit breaker. Installation must comply with electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) directives and include a safe distance from compasses to avoid interference.
