Detailed description
Detailed description
Designed for receiving satellite television at sea, the Raymarine 33 STV Europe antenna provides an automatic satellite television system. This system can identify, acquire, and track compatible signals from digital video broadcast (DVB) satellites, providing access to hundreds of TV channels. The antenna is specifically configured for linear polarization, suitable for regions such as Europe, Australia, New Zealand, China, and the Middle East.
Integration and compliance
For optimal performance, the installation of the Raymarine 33 STV antenna must comply with Raymarine’s electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) directives. It is recommended to keep the equipment and its cables at least 1 meter away from radio transmission equipment (VHF, antennas) and more than 2 meters from radar beams. The power supply must be protected by a suitable fuse or circuit breaker. Cables specified by Raymarine must be used, and suppression ferrites must not be removed or modified.
Preparation and maintenance
Before installation or commissioning, it is imperative to remove the transit foam inserts from the base of the antenna unit. It is also specified not to paint or apply any finish to the antenna unit to avoid degrading its performance. For lifting the unit, it is crucial to grip it by its base plate, avoiding the antenna cover or connectors beneath the base to prevent damage. The system requires a subscription to the relevant services from satellite providers for full functionality.
