Detailed description
Detailed description
The Raymarine E22078 short-arm wind transducer is a wind transducer / vane anemometer designed to provide accurate and reliable data on wind speed and direction to your navigation system. This model features a 300 mm arm and comes with a 30-meter cable, making it suitable for a wide range of sailboats and powerboats where minimal windage at the masthead is desired.
System integration and compatibility
This sensor is designed for seamless integration with the Raymarine ecosystem. It can be directly connected to dedicated displays such as the i60 Wind and ST60+ Wind series. For integration with more modern or centralized systems, such as Axiom / Axiom 2 Series multifunction displays or i70 / i70s and ST70 / ST70+ displays, the sensor must be connected via an iTC-5 instrument data converter. This flexibility ensures compatibility with both new installations and older systems.
Positioning and design
The E22078 model stands out for its short arm, which offers an advantage in terms of weight and windage at the masthead. Compared to its long-arm counterpart, the E22079 (600 mm), the E22078 is often preferred on smaller sailboats or on powerboats where wind measurement is not disrupted by sail turbulence. The robust construction and availability of all spare parts (from the A28167 service kit to R28170 arm assemblies) ensure easy maintenance and long service life, a major advantage over less modular competing solutions.
