Detailed description
Detailed description
The WIF-RK30880-E is a diesel fuel water presence detector, designed as an accessory for the Maretron RIM100 indicator module. Installed at the bottom of a compatible fuel filter, it alerts to the presence of water to trigger an alert or indicator on the onboard monitoring system.
Detection via RIM100, not a direct NMEA 2000 sensor
This reference must not be presented as a standalone NMEA 2000 sensor. The Maretron documentation states that the WIF-RK30880-E connects to the NMEA 2000 network via an RIM100 module: the detector outputs a voltage signal when water is detected, and the RIM100 reads this channel to display a status or trigger an alert.
Electrical installation
The installation uses the indicator circuit associated with the fuel filter, with 12 or 24 VDC power supply and a 1 A fuse according to the wiring diagram. The wiring between the indicator and the RIM100 uses suitable conductors, then the RIM100 publishes the status on the monitoring network.
Skysat usage
This product is relevant on boats where fuel alerts need to be integrated into a Maretron/Raymarine monitoring system. For a standard product sheet, it must be sold with the correct context: diesel filter water detector, to be paired with an RIM100 and a compatible display or software, rather than a simple SeaTalk NG cable.
