Detailed description
Detailed description
Designed for coastal and offshore navigation, the Simrad HALO24 Radar is a compact 24-inch dome radar that delivers advanced target detection. It integrates solid-state pulse technology and pulse compression, enabling a maximum range of 48 nautical miles and a minimum detection of 6 meters. Its ability to operate at 60 RPM on short ranges up to 2 nautical miles provides near real-time situational awareness for collision avoidance.
Doppler VelocityTrack™ Technology and Dual Range
The HALO24 Radar features Doppler VelocityTrack™ technology, which visually identifies moving targets. Approaching targets are displayed in yellow, receding targets in blue, and stationary targets in red, enhancing situational awareness. This feature automatically analyzes all targets without manual intervention. Dual-range capability allows monitoring distant weather conditions while detecting collision risks at short range.
Performance and Integration
With a peak output power of 25 W and an X-band frequency of 9.4 to 9.5 GHz, the Simrad HALO24 Radar offers a nominal horizontal beam width of 3.9°. It features instant-on from standby mode, eliminating warm-up time thanks to its solid-state design. Power consumption ranges from 14.5 to 27 W in operation and 3.9 W in standby (approximately 170 mA) at 13.8 V, compatible with 9 to 31.2 V DC systems. The radar supports MARPA target tracking for 10 targets (or 20 in dual range) and offers dedicated operating modes for harbor, offshore, weather, and bird detection. Its lightweight dome weighs 6.75 kg (without cable) and has compact dimensions (610 mm diameter, 225 mm height), featuring LED lighting and a low-profile design. It is IPX6 certified and operates between -25°C and +55°C, withstanding relative winds up to 51 m/sec (100 knots).
