Designed for demanding sailors, the Simrad NSO evo3S MFD 16" is a multifunction display that combines performance and system control. It features an iMX 8 six-core processor, delivering CPU performance up to twice that of previous models for fast response times. This display allows intuitive control via multi-touch of the entire connected Simrad system, including navigation, radar, sonar, and autopilot.
Display and Visibility
The 16" Full HD display, featuring SolarMAX™ IPS technology, offers a resolution of 1920 x 1080 and a brightness of 1200 nits. Its ultra-wide viewing angles of 80° (top/bottom, left/right) ensure clear readability even with polarized sunglasses. The "Low-Profile Glass Helm" design ensures aesthetic integration in various helm stations. The six-panel split-screen function enhances multitasking and simultaneous display of multiple data sources.
Connectivity and Integration
The NSO evo3S MFD 16" features extensive connectivity with three 100 Mbit/s Ethernet ports (RJ 45, adaptable to 5-pin yellow via an adapter cable), one NMEA 2000® Micro-C port, and an internal 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi connection. It also supports the J1939 protocol for engine data, NMEA 0183, and includes USB ports for peripherals. The HDMI OUT and HDMI IN ports enable versatile video management, complemented by two RCA composite video inputs. The unit operates on a supply voltage of 10 to 32V DC, with a maximum power consumption of 40W ± 4W.
Features and Storage
This MFD is compatible with a 1kW CHIRP fishfinder and a GPS receiver (external modules required). It offers 16 GB of internal storage and two MicroSD slots (max. 32 GB each, or higher if formatted as NTFS). It is compatible with C-MAP® charts (sold separately), providing one-foot contours and simplified route planning. A worldwide base map is included. Integration extends to third-party technologies such as radar and sonar modules, engine integration (J1939), and CZone® digital switching devices. It supports SteadySteer™ for enhanced autopilot performance and is compatible with Mercury® Smart Tow®. The SiriusXM® WM-4 module (North America, subscription required) is also integrated.
