Detailed description
Detailed description
The Simrad Pro R5024 HALO 5004 CAT2(H) X-band radar system is a pulse-compression detection solution designed for demanding professional and recreational marine applications. It integrates a 130 W transceiver mounted at the masthead, suitable for high-speed craft (HSC), and comes with a 4-foot antenna and a 30-meter cable. This system operates on 110 / 230 V AC power and is optimized for use with a 24-inch display, providing detailed visibility on a dedicated interface.
Performance and Technology
This radar uses solid-state pulse-compression technology, reducing cost of ownership and minimizing maintenance requirements compared to traditional magnetron systems. It offers a range of up to 48 nautical miles, with object detection at a minimum distance of 6 meters. Antenna rotation speeds are 20 to 60 rpm depending on operating mode and MFD. The system is suitable for high-speed craft (HSC) thanks to its CAT2(H) certification.
Advanced Features and Integration
The R5024 HALO 5004 features solid-state switching. Its gearbox is designed to withstand winds up to 100 knots. Compatible with existing Simrad Pro marine systems and standard marine network protocols, it integrates into an R5000 environment.
Robustness and Environmental Specifications
Designed as a commercial-grade radar, the R5024 HALO 5004 system features solid-state electronics, ensuring reliable long-term performance. It meets the IEC60945:2002 environmental standard, with an operating temperature range of -25° to +55°C and relative humidity of 95% at +35°C. Its IPX6 waterproof rating protects against powerful water jets. Power consumption is 17–29 W in operation and 3.9 W in standby at 13.8 V DC. A minimum clearance of 0.7 meters from the vessel’s compass is recommended for installation.
