The SIMRAD SD80 solenoid control card is an essential interface designed for controlling rudders or thrusters in Simrad autopilot systems. It allows on/off or proportional control via galvanically isolated solenoids, providing up to 10 A output. Compatible with Simrad autopilots AP70 and AP80, as well as autopilot computers NAC-2 and NAC-3, this module ensures reliable and precise integration into the navigation system.
Connectivity and Integration
The SD80 module integrates angle feedback capabilities via frequency, voltage, or current, essential for precise steering. It features extended connectivity via NMEA 2000, SimNet, and CAN bus, facilitating integration into existing marine network architectures. Dedicated inputs include analog/current rudder feedback (RUD UI) and frequency feedback (RUD FRQ), an external mode selector (MODE), and generic link signals (HS1, HS2). Its galvanically isolated outputs manage solenoid control (SOLENOIDS), bypass/double-speed valve or clutch activation (ENGAGE), and a "ready" contact (READY).
