Detailed description

The Standard Horizon SSM-BT20 wireless Bluetooth headset kit is designed to provide hands-free communication with the HX891BT/E portable VHF radios. This kit enables smooth and discreet interaction, essential in marine environments where mobility and audio clarity are paramount.

Advanced Bluetooth features

The SSM-BT20 integrates full Bluetooth capabilities for simplified use. Pairing the Bluetooth headset with the transceiver is a straightforward process, and once connected, the system offers volume control directly from the headset. A disconnect function allows managing the connection as needed. When powered back on, the headset automatically reconnects to the transceiver if the previously paired device is detected.

Operation and control

This headset kit simplifies transmission: a single press on the SSM-BT20 headset’s multifunction button triggers continuous transmission via the HX891BT transceiver, accompanied by an audio signal. It also supports hands-free VOX, enabling communication without pressing a button. For users with multiple headsets, the system allows connecting to another already paired Bluetooth® headset and removing registered devices from the list. The Bluetooth microphone sensitivity is also adjustable to optimize audio quality in various conditions.

Expert opinion
