Detailed description
Detailed description
The Victron Energy SmartShunt 1000A is an all-in-one battery monitor designed for installations requiring precise battery monitoring without the bulk of a dedicated display. It stands out with its "no-screen" approach, using the VictronConnect app on a smartphone or tablet via Bluetooth to display all essential monitoring data. This feature positions it as an optimized alternative to the BMV-712 battery monitor from the same brand, offering a more discreet solution with less wiring.
Monitoring Capabilities and Connectivity
This model, with a 1000 A capacity, allows reading parameters such as state of charge, remaining autonomy (time to go), and data history. The SmartShunt is equipped with a VE.Direct port, enabling direct connection to a Victron Energy GX device for full integration into a larger system and data access via the VRM portal. It also includes an auxiliary connection for monitoring a second battery, tracking the midpoint of a battery bank, or connecting an optional temperature sensor.
Accuracy and System Integration
The SmartShunt provides measurement accuracy of ±0.01 A for current and ±0.01 V for voltage, with an accuracy of ±0.4 % for current and ±0.3 % for voltage. It operates within a supply voltage range of 6.5 to 70 VDC and can handle battery capacities from 1 to 9999 Ah. Designed for simplified installation, it measures 68 x 168 x 75 mm and uses M10 shunt connection bolts. Unlike the BMV-712, it does not feature programmable visual/audible alarms or a programmable relay, directing its use toward systems where notification via the app or a GX device is preferred.
