Detailed description
Detailed description
Designed for demanding marine applications, the Whale Gulper 320 24V electric pump (part number BP2054) is a diaphragm pump without a filter, intended for managing gray water and small bilges. Operating on a 24V DC power supply (voltage range from 21.6 V to 27.2 V DC), it delivers a flow rate of 19 litres per minute (5 US GPM), with a maximum current draw of 3.25 amperes and a recommended 5-ampere automotive-type fuse.
Design and technical performance
The Gulper 320 stands out with its filter-free design, eliminating clogging risks and simplifying maintenance. Its ability to run dry without damage, combined with ignition protection (ISO8846), makes it a reliable solution for marine environments. The pump head, made of glass-reinforced nylon, and the valves/diaphragms in Santoprene® contribute to its durability. With hose connections compatible with 19 mm (3/4") and 25 mm (1") diameters, it offers installation flexibility. It can handle a maximum suction head of 3 metres and a maximum discharge head of 3 metres, with a combined maximum head of 4 metres.
Positioning within the Whale range
The Gulper 320 is positioned as a primary bilge pump for vessels up to 12 metres, in accordance with ISO15083, outperforming models like the Gulper 220 (14 L/min) in flow rate. Unlike the Gulper IC kits (part numbers SI82XX, SI84XX, WM8XXX, SG8XXX) which include automatic features and sensors, the Gulper 320 is a standalone pump offering simple integration. It differs from the submersible pumps in the Orca or Supersub ranges, which require remote mounting for installation in a dry, protected location. Weighing 1.6 kg and with compact dimensions (273 x 111 x 117 mm), it fits easily into confined spaces. It is supplied without additional accessories, focusing solely on pump performance.
