Detailed description
Detailed description
The XSONIC Airmar SS164 (12°) is a flush-mount 1 kW transducer designed for commercial fishing vessels requiring a flush installation. This model features a 12° tilted element, making it compatible with hulls with a deadrise angle between 8° and 15°.
Sonar Performance and Features
With a power output of 1 kW, the SS164 operates at dual frequencies of 50 kHz and 200 kHz. The 50 kHz frequency delivers a wide 22° beam for depths up to 549 m (1,800 ft). The 200 kHz frequency provides a narrower 6° beam for detailed detection up to 244 m (800 ft). This transducer outputs depth and water temperature data with fast response and includes Airmar’s patented Xducer ID® technology.
Durable Design and Installation
Constructed with a stainless steel housing, the XSONIC Airmar SS164 is compatible with all hull materials, including fiberglass, wood, aluminum, and steel. Its flush design minimizes drag, protruding less than 6.35 mm (1/4 in) from the hull, making it suitable for trailerable boats. The Tilted Element™ technology ensures ceramic arrays are angled within the housing to direct a vertical beam straight below the boat, optimizing target detection even on hulls with deadrise. The transducer weighs approximately 2.7 kg and includes a 10 m (33 ft) cable with a black 9-pin connector. It maintains accurate performance at speeds up to 30 knots.
