Detailed description
Detailed description
Designed for high-speed vessels, racing boats, sport fishing boats, and trailerable boats, the through-hull XSONIC Airmar SS164 (20°) is an integrated 1 kW solution. It provides water depth and temperature detection with fast response, eliminating the need for a fairing block.
Technology and performance
The XSONIC Airmar SS164 (20°) operates on dual frequencies of 50 kHz and 200 kHz. At 50 kHz, it offers a 22° beam width and a depth capability up to 549 meters (1800 feet). At 200 kHz, its beam width is 6° for a maximum depth of 244 meters (800 feet). Its stainless steel housing is compatible with all hull materials. This model is specifically designed with a 20° tilted element, making it suitable for deadrise angles from 16° to 24°.
Design and integration
Thanks to Tilted Element™ technology, the ceramics are tilted inside the housing to compensate for the hull angle, ensuring a direct vertical beam under the boat. This design promotes strong echo returns and accurate depth readings. Its flush profile extends less than 6.35 mm (1/4") outside the hull, allowing the boat to rest on trailer rollers and supports without damage and reducing drag. The transducer features a broadband element that provides precise target detail in shallow water and excellent bottom tracking in deep water. It is compatible with any 600 W or 1 kW fishfinder and provides accurate data up to 30 knots. Airmar’s Patented Xducer ID® technology is also integrated for transducer identification. The 10-meter (33-foot) cable is equipped with a 9-pin Navico connector.
