Detailed description
Detailed description
Designed for deep-water detection, the through-hull transducer XSONIC Airmar SS175L (12°) is a 1 kW low-frequency CHIRP solution. This transducer offers a maximum range of 762 meters (2500 feet) and includes fast-response depth and water temperature detection capabilities. Its stainless steel housing ensures compatibility with all hull types, including metal hulls.
CHIRP Technology and Tilted Element™
The SS175L (12°) transducer is optimized for CHIRP sonar systems, providing high target separation and detail levels. Operating on a low-frequency band of 40 to 60 kHz with a beam width of 32° to 21°, it is particularly effective for deep-sea fishing. The Tilted Element™ technology integrates a 12° tilted ceramic element inside the housing. This fixed tilt compensates for hull deadrise angles of 8° to 15°, ensuring the sonar beam is directed vertically toward the bottom for maximized echo returns without requiring a fairing block.
Integration and Installation
Weighing 2.7 kg (6 lbs) and featuring a 10-meter (33-foot) cable with a 9-pin connector, the XSONIC Airmar SS175L (12°) is suitable for boats up to 11 meters (36 feet). Installation requires a 95 mm (3-3/4") hole for fiberglass or wooden hulls, and a 105 mm (4-1/8") hole for metal hulls, with specific isolation for the latter. Its urethane acoustic window contributes to performance. This transducer also benefits from Xducer ID® technology, allowing the fishfinder to recognize its specifications, and Mix and Match™, offering connection flexibility.
