Why ETFE
Ethylene tetrafluoroethylene operates from −55 °C to +150 °C without degradation and resists hydrocarbons. On a boat, this targets runs near an engine or exhaust where standard PVC hardens and then cracks. Trade-off: the insulation is stiffer than PVC, to be considered when routing in tight bends.
