How do I install the XPLORE 12 touchscreen on my boat?

The XPLORE 12 touchscreen is designed to be mounted on a gimbal mount. Installation can be done traditionally on a horizontal surface or in overhead mount mode.

For installation, you will need to drill four 4 mm (5/32") mounting holes for the gimbal and one 31.75 mm (1 1/4") hole for cable passage, located 50 to 100 mm (2" to 4") behind the chosen mounting location. It is recommended to use marine-grade silicone sealant to seal the mounting holes.

The kit includes all necessary gimbal mounting components such as metal washers, rubber washers, and locking knobs.

What are the power supply requirements for the XPLORE 12 combined unit?

The XPLORE 12 display must be connected to a 12 VDC power supply. It must not be connected to 24 V or 36 V systems. A 5 A slow-blow fuse or equivalent MDL fuse is required for device protection.

The included power cable is 2 m (6 ft) long. If an extension is needed, use 12 AWG stranded copper wire for extensions from 1 to 12 ft, and 10 AWG for extensions from 12 to 24 ft.
