Detailed description
Detailed description
The Minn Kota MKA-57 mounting bracket is designed for QUEST series bow-mount electric motors, suitable for freshwater and saltwater use. It ensures robust mounting for Riptide Instinct QUEST, Ulterra QUEST, Riptide Terrova QUEST, and Terrova QUEST models.
Design and Features
This quick-release bracket features an aluminum design and offers two distinct locking positions. The first position aligns the top plate and the bottom plate, locking them firmly with a cam lever, ideal for motor use. The second position allows the top plate to slide inward a distance of 10 inches (approximately 25.4 cm) before being locked, which is convenient for boat transport, trailering, or installing a cover without requiring complete motor removal.
Installation and Compatibility
Installation of the MKA-57 bracket requires a flat mounting surface and the use of all six mounting bolts to ensure maximum stability. It is recommended to mount the motor as close as possible to the boat's centerline or keel. The bracket is compatible with the base extrusions of QUEST trolling motors, and clearance checks are necessary to ensure the motor does not encounter any obstructions during deployment or stowage. Mounting requires the use of certain parts (reinforcement bars, rubber washers) supplied with the trolling motor itself, in addition to the fastening elements included with the MKA-57.
