The Victron Energy 12.8V/100Ah NG (next generation) lithium battery, part number BAT512110620, is a LiFePO₄ (Lithium Iron Phosphate) energy solution. Designed for demanding applications, it offers a nominal capacity of 100 Ah and an energy capacity of 1280 Wh at a nominal voltage of 12.8V. This battery represents an evolution of the Lithium Smart series, incorporating improvements for management and performance.
Advanced management and monitoring
The Victron Energy 12.8V/100Ah NG battery integrates a shunt for collecting essential data (voltage, current, temperature) transmitted to an external battery management system (BMS). A BMS is mandatory and must be purchased separately, such as the Lynx Smart BMS NG 500 A/1000 A, smallBMS NG, or VE.Bus BMS NG models. This system ensures cell balancing and monitoring, protection against overcharging and deep discharging, as well as thermal management. Real-time parameter monitoring is performed via the VictronConnect app (Bluetooth integrated into the BMS), a GX device, or the VRM portal, and the battery firmware is automatically updated by the BMS.
Flexibility and durability
With a round-trip efficiency of 92% and a maximum self-discharge rate of 2% per month, this LiFePO₄ battery is designed for extended longevity. It offers a lifespan of 2500 cycles at 80% depth of discharge (DoD), 3000 cycles at 70% DoD, and up to 5000 cycles at 50% DoD. It supports a maximum continuous discharge current of 100 A (1C) and a maximum continuous charge current of 100 A (1C). NG batteries can be connected in series, parallel, or series/parallel to create battery banks of 12V, 24V, or 48V, with a maximum capacity of 50 batteries for 12V/24V systems and 25 batteries for 48V systems. Its IP65 rating ensures resistance to dust and low-pressure water jets, making it suitable for marine environments. Installation is simplified with included mounting brackets for secure attachment.
